This is the required insult that goes along with the endless injuries of the people of Palestine. The Zionists have taken, and are still taking their pound of flesh upon them. Now they want to have their pound of shame too. Abbas has gradually been stripped of all his dignity and even his humanity is stripped bare for all the world to see.

Abbas is about as popular with the Palestinians as George W. Bush was to the Americans at the end of his term as POTUS.

The fact is this, in the last Palestinian elections (‘free and fair’ according to all international observers) Hamas defeated Fatah by claiming 62% of the vote, not just in Gaza but the West Bank too.

Until Israel talks with Hamas everything Abbas does just delays that inevitability, which of course suits Israel just fine.

Joorip, I really don’t think it’s Israel’s place to determine who should lead the Palestinians. I can say this about both Hamas and Al Queda; they don’t occupy, dominate, oppress, starve and humiliate an entire people as Israel does.

Given the streams of racist hate that pour forth from every orifice in the Israeli body politic, these lobbyists have got a lot of nerve rendering Abu Mazen no partner for peace because he hasn’t stamped out the Palestinian media’s exercise of free speech. These guys disgust me.

BTW I say Hamas was smart enough not to run…because if they won the IDF would blow the place up like they did the West Bank. Unlike the politicians in the USA…Hamas actually cares about its peoples.
