If memory serve me I remember Lutwak as a guest on the now defunct CNN's Crossfire criticizing the elder George Bush's intervention in the Kuwait-Iraq disputes telling us about Iraq being the best Muslim nation in the area. He cited the tolerance extended towards Christians as seen with the open displays of crucifixes, the sale and consumption of alcohol, women not forced to wear a veil plus education for them resulting in a high level of females in the professions. What has happened since that he changed his views on what has since happened over there baffles me.
