A thought for Dsmith and radii:
The neoconservatives are less “pro-Israel” than pro-Likud. Their views match those of the Likud minority of Israelis who favor Israeli territorial expansion, oppose a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and hope for a U.S. war on Iran. These hard-line Likud policies threaten both U.S. and Israeli national security.
A U.S. policy of defending Israel within its 1967 borders is fine. But we should reject pro-Likud policies as contrary to American values and U.S. security.

The greatest threat to the US is @ 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. men elected to lead instead pursuing power over not just the citizenry of this country but the world. Is it me or was this the reason we fought the cold war to stop a conspiracy of global domination.

Why stop there at the children and relatives of the neo-con fanatics? Anyone who has the strength of mouth to make the clarion call for and spout the platitudes to support war should have the strength of body and spirit to fight the war. In other words, they should enlist or shut the hell up. I don’t care if you are collecting social security benefits.

Having said that, I don’t blame the neo-con fascists or their war mongering enables in the war party, (Dems or Repubs it doesn’t matter) because at the end of the day, when the smoke clears and the dust settles, the American people always vote for a never-ending state of war…………….

Ralph, I’ve read that Michael Ledeen and Eliot Cohen have sons that serve as Marine Corps officers.

I know that this is not enough. The whole Kagan, Kristol, Bush, Cheney, Gaffney, and Podhoretz clans should be marching through the streets of Mosul spreading democracy.

Darn, you made me breach my one man boycott of Max Boot by quoting the foreign born coward. He touts the war. He is young enough to fight it. He should enlist or shut up.

In light of that, is it possible that Petraeus is dissembling here? He may be already taking the necessary measures to appear less 'hawkish' in case he is called upon to replace Fallon. I would guess that he would have a better chance of being accepted by the 'realist' faction in Congress if he is not viewed as a hawk when it comes to Iran.
