Those inflammatory Palestinian cartoons depicting Jews/Israelis as being vampires feeding on Palestinian babies boils down to semantics with guys like this. I wish when Jon Stewart lampoons these cartoons he’d show the ugly thread of truth behind them. I guess sometimes the truth isn’t funny.

I wrote in an earlier thread about evangelical/apocalyptic tea leave reading. Simply put, these evangelicals trying to bring about the return of Jesus are disturbing. I try to get them to agree that the barometer for what we may permit/condone must be measured by the Golden Rule. They seem to be willing to defer all to Israel. I like to ask them if they would defer similarly to this illegal day laborer I used one time who was also named Israel? They don’t get my joke.
